School Visits at Farmer Ted's

Farmer Ted’s is a family run business and our aim is to combine farming fun and education so children can enjoy learning about animals, habitats and food production within a safe environment, we cover all topics within the national curriculum.

Visiting schools will be charged per child. Supervision is worked on a 5:1 ratio for reception, 1:6 for key stage one, 1:10 for key stage two and when this is exceeded we then charge per head for the extra adults.

 Educational Visits

This is an educational trip, please make sure all your group supervisors understand that it is a fully timetabled day, and although there will be play times; this is not a recreational visit. We provide a fully scheduled day on the farm, with the first activity starting at 10:30am then to finish after the milking demonstration at approximately 2.30pm. Our Park Rangers will be available to escort your group throughout the day. We have many animals to see, including pigs, goats, sheep, cows, ponies, horses, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and even llamas. Our mini beasts are an exotic collection of snakes, cockroaches, tarantulas, frogs and many more species. The mini beast adventure is available to visit within the playtime, but can be tailored into your trip by prior arrangement so the children get to meet and touch and in some cases hold the creepy crawlies. The tractor ride takes you around the fields to see the various bigger animals and their habitats.

Please note that the indoor play centre will not be available for the children to use on the day, although the outside adventure play areas will be. Visiting schools and groups are assigned a room as a base, to keep packed lunches, coats etc, there is no extra cost for this service, but we do ask that it is left as it was found, clean and ready for use. On busy days large rooms may be split with a partition.

Recreational Visits
